Ascot Guidelines
Ascot have just published their dress code guidelines for 2013 and they are essentially the same as in 2012 with a focus on formal attire which is smart and classical. This means that for all enclosures except the Royal Enclosure, ladies are to wear something on their heads but the choice of fascinator, headpiece, hatinator or hat is theirs!
However, in the Royal Enclosure, there are a few more do's and don'ts and Royal Ascot states that "Hats should be worn. A headpiece with a base of 4 inches (10cm) or more in diameter is acceptable as an alternative to a hat." In addition, they state that fascinators are no longer permitted in the Royal Enclosure and we have therefore assumed their definition of a fascinator is any headpiece with a base measuring less than 4" (10cms) in diameter.
On all of our products we have identified which ones are Ascot Royal Enclosure Friendly as they will have a base which meets and exceeds the size requirements.
