What is a fascinator hat?
Definitions for fascinators do vary but we consider a fascinator hat to be a headpiece usually mounted on a base, comb or headband worn to the front or side incorporating a combination of feathers, flowers, coils, curls and other trimmings. Fascinator hats can range considerably in size from very large brimmed headpieces to small hair accessories. Larger fascinators can also be called headpieces.

From our Blog
We work with many materials when making our hats but the base material of most styles is sinamay. This is a natural product made of woven straw. It is a difficult medium to work with as it needs to be folded, moulded and in some cases stiffened into shape. It can vary considerably in its texture and pliability. However, once mastered enables a milliner to create wonderful shapes, flowers and knots.
